Sweet Embrace Part 1
Jackie Hunt is a black middle class college student with middle class aspirations who wants to meet a man she can love and respect. But all the men she’s been dating lately, are the ones who believe she should pay for the date, and assume they should take her to bed. But she’s not having none of that. Jackie isn’t expecting to meet a rich man. She doesn’t hold those high aspirations. Jackie doesn’t expect flowers and candy, and expensive dinners. She just wants a man who can afford to pay for a movie and popcorn. “Is that too much to ask for?” she says posing the question to her girlfriend, Emily, who sets her up on dates with a lot of losers.
John Greenleaf is a man who’s comfortable and has a great life. All he wants is to meet a woman who doesn’t check his portfolio to determine how much money he has, or what profession he’s in. “Is it too much to ask to meet women who will like me for myself?” He asks his friend, LaShawn, a jock whom he’s known since his football days when he was the golden boy quarterback in college, and LaShawn was then the aspiring freshman quarterback.
When Jackie finally meets John, will they discover that they have something in common, or will they come to the wrong conclusions about each other before they get a chance to fall in love?
