I really was at my wits end. I was desperate. I needed that grade. I wasn’t gonna pass without it. I wasn’t going to graduate without it. And I knew it. And worse yet, Miss Moon knew it. Not that she was the vindictive sort. I’m sure in her heart of hearts, she wanted me to pass. But, I guess not without making me squirm first. I guess you can call it payback. For not heeding her warnings. For not buckling down. Getting serious. Like her. Most of the time. So, needless to say, my fate was completely and utterly in Miss Moon’s hands. Otherwise, I never would have agreed to this whole charade. I never would have, essentially become Teacher’s (Golden) Pet.
