The Christian Enigma describes the rise of the Christian faith within the Roman Empire. We are so used to the spiritual values it imposed that the vast majority of us does not imagine that the establishment of the Christian faith and the emergence of Christendom were a highly implausible event. The Christian esoteric faith was unlikely to blossom in its native form within the Roman Empire. Its adaptation to the Greek mentality was not self-evident and allowed its adoption by the emperor Constantine, whose accession to the Purple was not initially acquired. The further protection lent by succeeding emperors to the Christian faith appears providential. It favoured the ensuing creation of Christendom. The extreme unlikelihood of such an event leads to the conclusion that it was an evolutive convergence.
