The Bacteria Wars is a misnomer of what occurred in the late twenty first century. the scientific community had long been aware that virus could invade the body cells of bacteria and use the host to propagate and mutate. The concept of both bacteria and virus cooperating to attack humans through the destruction of the eyes was unexpected and wrecked havoc on the world's communities. The large population areas suffered from the horrific side effects of secondary contagions such as cholera and food poisoning while isolated communities adopted strict exclusion methods and survivalist mesures. Island countries such as Australia, New Zealand, Japan and to some extent Great Britain survived almost intact and played a leading role in a world redefining boundaries and religious beliefs.
Harry Mays led the international effet to discover a vacine and Marcus an already blinded war veteran attempted to bring the blinded into seeing a better future.
The Bacteria Wars is book one of the Stardust Trilogy.
