The Booners

by Michael W. Brewer

Follow two animals—a lonely stray dog and a cat named Shatakanders—as they search for the meaning of words. The humans around them throw words casually about, but the animal friends aren’t always quite sure what they mean.

The lonely stray and Shatakanders team up to investigate. Along the way, the two make new friends and learn together. The lonely stray may even earn a new name and a family in the process.

About the Author

Michael W. Brewer has a passion for words and the power each word may hold within its meaning, or meanings. He hopes The Booners will encourage children to investigate words for their meaning, not just their familiar, casual usages.

In addition to writing, the author also enjoys surfing, working out, and of course, story-telling. The author has always felt a special connection with animals, especially cats and dogs. Brewer currently resides in Huntington Beach, California. He is very close with his family. His mother has passed, and he misses her immensely.
