On May 6, 1882 the United States Congress passed the Chinese Exclusion Act. Franklin Nixon was a Lance Corporal stationed at the U.S. Marine Barracks in Washington, D.C. at that time. A few short years later he joins the Mounted Chinese Exclusionary Police on the day he is discharged from the service and is sent to the Willcox sector in the Arizona Territory, where he becomes the Chinese Hunter.
