This is book is a large volume, it's a long read that traces hypnosis from its roots in mesmerism and magnetism and the transition up to the present day verbal hypnosis. It's suitable for both the interested observer and the professional hypnotherapist. Part One is historical, a summary of my experiences with hypnosis and mesmerism, and an accurate dissertation on Mesmer and some of the early Magnetists and the transition from Magnetism to contemporary stage and clinical hypnosis. Part Two is informational and instructional, including full tutorials on how to use and induce both verba;l hypnosis and Mesmerism.
Even amongst the hypnosis profession, there rmains little real understanding of the two methodologies. Hypnosis and Magnetism/Mesmerism are completely different, and both induced in an entirely different way. Regarding hypnosis the two primary methodologies are the indirect method of Ericksonian Hypnosis and the direct method of the more authoritarian and Direct Suggestion methods of Traditional Hypnosis. A perfect compendium for those interested in hypnosis and the mind and its capabilities,
