"What would you do if the zoo came to you?" Find out, in this cleverly written and delightfully illustrated children's book When all the animals at the zoo decide to visit two children at home, chaos ensues! Resource Links, a publication, which reviews children's books for school librarians across Canada, put The Day the Zoo Came to Visit in its Best of the Year 2003 list. The plot, in a nutshell: two children who have visited the zoo in the morning are now sitting at home, very bored. There is a knock at the door, and they find that all the animals at the zoo have come to visit them! Chaos ensues as the animals begin to get into everything and generally wreak havoc. The challenge for the children is to get the animals out of the house. What age range is it intended for? Although aimed at children aged 3-7, children outside this age range can still get a lot out of the book for a variety of reasons including the use of language and rhyming.
