Uchimura Kanzo (内村鑑三; 26 March 1861 – 28 March 1930) was a Japanese author, publicist, and founder of “Mukyōkai”, the Nonchurch Movement of Christianity. Also, he was a teacher, but for his uncompromising position in religion it wasn't for a long time.  So why, He started the career as a journalist, and wrote first time the essays the popular newspaper “Yorozu Chōchō”, and he started publishing and selling his own monthly magazine, Tokyo Zasshi (Tokyo Journal) and later Seisho no Kenkyu (Biblical Study), and supported himself by addressing weekly audiences of 500–1000 people in downtown Tokyo in lectures on the Bible.
