The city of Dawn was the marvel of the world of Aria. A metropole where everyone was accepted, be their human, elf, vampire or any other kind of creature; so long as you respected the rules and the other races that lived there, you were welcome.
That changed the moment a foreign noblewoman was taken from her home. The prime suspect became Patrick Eelgrass, one of the most powerful vampires in the city. Vampires were both feared and hated, and though accepted in Dawn there were plenty of doubts about them. Several of the factions in the city started using the disappearance of Lucinda Von Sachs to their own means, trying to provoke a war against the vampires.
A civil war would break Dawn apart, make the city vulnerable to the nation-states around it. As a last recourse, members of the Hunter's guild, Jean and Sylvie, were called to take over the investigation. Sylvie was a vampire, the only one in the city that worked for the authorities, the only one whose word would be enough to convince the vampires of the city of Eelgrass's guilt or innocence.
Jean was a human that found herself in Aria, a world of fantasy, in the body of an elf, lost and confused, and had grown to love her new world. She also loved her partner, though she had never done anything to act on it. Together they would be the last chance Dawn had to avoid civil war, but as always things weren't what they seemed.
