The Ghoul: A Tale of Old Waubakosh relates the strange happenings in a small town on the shores of Lake Ontario. In the novel two women using the power of voodoo magic reanimate the body of a local farmer with devastating consequences. This zombie terrorizes a wooded park on the eastern edge of town leaving a trail of death and destruction. A young boy named Nathan and his zany dog, Longfellow, eventually become the focus of this undead creature leading to a violent and dramatic climax.

Set primarily in the 1970s, the novel transports the reader back to a simpler world, a world without cell phones, MP3 players, laptop computers, or the Internet. This world comes alive with many references to the popular culture of the time. The reader sees a town not only facing the fear of a murderous monster, but the challenge of change and urban sprawl.

Waubakosh is loosely based on a real town in southern Ontario. The colorful and eccentric citizens of this town provide the inspiration for the characters in the novel.

In The Ghoul: A Tale of Old Waubakosh you will find characters to love and to hate, to cheer for and to boo. The adventures of Nathan and Longfellow will make you laugh, cry, and feel the terror, again and again. So join Nathan, Longfellow -- and the Ghoul for a rip roaring tale that can be enjoyed by readers both young and old.
