Andrew Lang (1844 – 1912) was a Scots poet, novelist, literary critic, and contributor to the field of anthropology. He is best known as a collector of folk and fairy tales. The Andrew Lang lectures at the University of St Andrews are named after him. Lang was also a prolific author of works both fiction and non; he wrote his own fairy tales such as Prince Prigio (1889) and Prince Ricardo of Pantouflia (1893), and wrote numerous historical texts. The story relates about a King and a Queen. Before the death of the Queen she called her husband and ordered not to let her child put his feet on the ground, for as soon as he does so he will fall into the power of a wicked Fairy, and will make his life terrible. One day the prince and his suite went out for a ride in a wood where his father sometimes held a hunt. The young Prince pursued the little creature but suddenly fell of his horse and stood on the ground. In an instant moment he disappeared in front of the assumed eyes. Probably he died. Who knows? You will find out at the end of story.
