Charles Montgomery Skinner (1852-1907) was an American writer who published myths and legends collection books. His dream was to make American folklore heritage more glorious. Skinner worked in a wide range of genres, he worked as a journalist and a playwright. The short story by Charles Skinner named “The Gloucester Leaguers” describes strange events that took place in Gloucester, right on the eve of King Phillip's War. These events were called so as they were referred to the unknown group of people who have been seen several times. After numerous attempts for theirs assassination arose a proposal that it was not an enemy of flesh and blood, but devils. Mysterious and very intriguing story.
