More often than not, stalking can only end in tragedy – both for the stalker and the person being stalked. Ross McDonald is a stalker extraordinaire and gives new meaning to the phrase, "never give up." Being an abuser while living with his common-law wife Janet and her son Andrew, Ross made her life one prolonged agony whereby she was unable to have friends or to have any independence. He threatened her whenever she rebelled and left her with several black eyes. It was either Ross's way or Janet had to submit to the kind of abuse that no one deserved. It's amazing what this man was willing to endure in order to achieve his ends. Perhaps he was justified in his obsession. After all, Janet had tried to kill him, hadn't she? But sometimes, after repeated failures, calling it quits is the most judicious choice one can make. However, Ross, being what he is, does not heed what his body is telling him (he takes an awful beating and needs a doctor's care desperately) and ends up paying a heavy price for his unending persistence.
