The Third Book in the Ester Ried Series.  In this book we are introduced to a new character. The connection to the Ried family isn’t obvious at first but will become so in the 4th book of the Series.  When Dell Bronson arrives in the small town of Lewiston she faces many challenges.  She has been raised since her mother’s death by her Aunt and Uncle in the big City of Boston.  Leaving a life of luxury and refinement Dell has come to help her father upon his request.  But the family business is a Saloon and Dell has an abhorrence for alcohol and the devastating effect it can have on people’s lives.  How can a saloon keepers daughter run the town temperance movement?  The actions and prayers of Dell will have a positive effect on broken lives.  Facing discouragement on every side Dell perseveres through her difficulties.  An interesting look at the philosophies and ideals of the Temperance Movement.
