The Lady Gale is like many married women. She cooks, cleans, cares for her husband the Great Sir William, and does her best to stem the tide of domestic chaos that is always looming. To her homeland, the kingdom of Thistledown, she is no more than “The Knight’s Wife,” but in fact she is much, much more. For the length of their twenty year marriage, Gale has kept her husband, the legendary Sir William from being, slashed, beaten, barbecued, fried, murdered, and ingested by the various monsters that would threaten the safety of Thistledown. Sir William is nearly blind, yet the king and peasants have no clue of their hero’s handicap. Gale has done her best to keep it that way, until one freak occurrence threatens to ruin her two decades long charade. The Great Sir William is unaware that his wife is anything but the good housewife and woods woman she has let him see her as for over twenty years. Gale was raised in the woods by her father and taught how to fight and track better than most knights could ever dream of. She allows love to guide her, but sometimes love can distract as well as guide. A lesson the Lady Gale learns much to her chagrin.
