"The Kwerekwere Testament 1: Going Beyond Borders" is the first part of "The Kwerekwere Testament; The Complete Chronicles". "kwerekwere" is the derogatory term that black South Africans... and indeed black Southern Africans use when referring to "unwanted black foreigners"... almost all black foreigners are unwanted in South Africa. Orakwe travels to Swaziland to sell Nigerian traditional attires. The journey which was meant to last for 2 weeks spirals into 13.5 years. This is because Orakwe eventually moves to South Africa from Swaziland, where he is exposed to the the realities of institutionalized racism, xenophobia and crime. Before long, Orakwe is swallowed up by this new world... first as a reluctant student and then later as the designer and master of many interesting crime schemes. This is the story that takes you into the parts of the heart, mind and soul of the kwerekwere, yet to be explored.

*****~~~~~*****

I just realised that it could be more dangerous to be a Nigerian kwerekwere in South Africa, than a soldier in the front lines of a battle field. All potential Nigerian kwerekwere must prepare well before they go beyong borders.

Major General Alexander A. Madiebo
First Nigerian Artillery Commander
Biafran Army Commander (1967 - 1970)
Author: The Nigerian Revolution and The Biafran Civil War.
