Oracles at Painted Mesa is Salt Lake attorney Paul Toscano’s account of murder, intrigue, corruption, and paranormal events that involve ley lines, UFOs, quantum mechanics, and the search for the foundations of cosmic reality. The story, set in high deserts of northern Arizona, is presented as a documentary based on exhibits prepared by protagonist Buck Winston delivered to Toscano in a sealed box with instructions to publish Buck's strange story told through newspaper articles, letters, transcripts of tape recordings, journal entries, field notes, and memoranda. These documents tell of theattempt of Buck and his colleagues to unravel the mystery behind Painted Mesa, a disputed parcel that was not included in the original Hopi land grant by the federal government. This sacred drumlin that lies outside the Hopi and Navajo reservations and contains an ancient kiva where the chief kachinas are believed to have appeared to the Hopi elders from other dimensions to impart their oracles. The kiva is sought be an anciet evil seeking to bring the world to oblivion.
