Richard Ulbrich, is the author of three acclaimed publications of the thoroughbred, “See How They Ran” in 1981, “The Great Stallion Book” in 1984, and the ultimate companion volume “Richard Ulbrich's Peerage of Racehorses” in 1994. As he undertook his research he collected a large number of amusing and interesting snippets of information that are worth repeating independent of context, and which he had thought to publish as a book.

Sadly Richard died this year (2016) aged 83, and as a tribute to his memory, I have regathered those snippets and some of his other works and put them together in this new volume.

The snippets are whimsical and quirky in nature, but none the less provide great insight into the world of the thoroughbred.

I hope you enjoy them.
