John Kendrick Bangs (1862-1922) was an American writer working in the field of satire. He became famous for his fantastical depictions of the afterlife, for example the hell. It led to the appearance of a new literary term — Bangsian fantasy, the typy of fantasy in which the action is set entirely in some place in the afterlife. Thomas Bragdon has died. That's terrible, indeed. Thomas Bragdon's friend is depressed about that, and wants to tell you why. Thomas Bragdon was not an ordinary man, he definetely was strange, but in his own charming way. One day he suggested that he and his friend would go to a journey.. but not a usual journey — an imaginary journey! They chose a place on the golbe — any place and searched for any information about that place. Then they sailed on a yacht for about a week and exchanged that information. Thomas Bragdon's friend enjoyed that! But now Bragdon is dead. Read 'The Literary Remains of Thomas Bragdon' and you will know what happened to him!
