Jeffery (Popeye) Ross was a shy young man until he met Lillian Crawford the love of his life one night at a church dance. When the U.S. enters World War II he want nothing to do with it until he gets Lillian his teen age girlfriend pregnant realizing he needed to do something feeling the pressure from his guardian Mrs. Hutchinson he joins the Army. When the war ended he found himself torn between staying in the Army or getting out.
