Book 3  The Miracles of Rome.

Power is the Ultimate Aphrodisiac
(H. Kissinger)

SERIES: KINGDOM A I
Book 1: A I APOCALYPSE
Book 2: POTENTATE
Book 3: THE MIRACLES OF ROME
Book 4: THE ALTAR OF ATLANTIS

The story so far: In 2045 a desperate power struggle rages on between the deposed King Kaleb AI Hakim (Kal) and the military's General Fahim Al Maktoum. Two decades before, the United Saudi Arabian Kingdom (USAK) with its capital in Las Vegas had stolen US robot technology. At a time of global panic, the Saudis smuggled fighting machines inside emergency food shipments, despatched to every continent.

This first world government of 2025 had placed constraints on technology to protect privacy and family life, but the dissatisfied General bided his time to seize power from Kal and his royal relatives. His ally the Singularity, a rapacious self-programming Artificial Intelligence, was believed to have been destroyed by Kal. But in Book 2, POTENTATE, the Singularity reappeared as the General's accomplice, hellbent on brain-chipping the world's population. This silicon entity of seemingly infinite intelligence had created a new plaything for the megalomaniacal General. A time machine. Before the machine could be tested, a ground invasion of the USA by the Russian Federation triggered the General to unleash another wave of genocidal fury.

In Book 3, the fight moves to Rome. Kal's goal as ruler had been to negotiate a one world religion, but the General's plan is to unite the world through terror, using fake aliens and techno-miracles. The heat is on when he realises his own suave super-assassin Richard Skurn, a psychopathic sharp shooting karate champion, has turned against him.

BACKGROUND TO THE BOOK, February 2018:
'We are looking at an open framework for an Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), matching and then exceeding human level intelligence. That's our goal. And with this our robots are able to see, are able to learn and remember the interactions, and we think we are able to match pretty well anything humans are able to do… we do believe that machines will match and exceed human genius… they are developing bio-inspired Artificial Intelligence in groups all around the world… you can't introduce conscience and caring into the machines after this happens.'  David Hanson, CEO, Hanson Robotics.
