The Modern Golem: A Tale from the New World

Set in a dystopian future, the story involves Smolarek, a cynical journalist, who is investigating an attack on a local commercial laboratory. The lab specialises in augmentative surgery, which creates Numans, super humans that do not need to breath. Smolareck becomes embroiled with the senior scientist,but then finds her dead. He becomes a suspect of state security and is forced to conduct their investigation for them, putting himself in danger. An unwilling tool of the state, Smolarek must solve the riddle of the attack while staying alive.
