The “Mudman of Sheridan” is based on a true series of over 50 crimes against women occurring in Shaker Heights, Ohio, between 1974 and 1981, which the author investigated while a police officer there. With an underlying theme of child abuse, the story is filled with suspense, violence, love, humor, sex, strong language, prejudice, despair and most importantly—hope—plus a shocking, true ending.

About the Author

Highly regarded firearms writer Gary Paul Johnston's interest in firearms began at age 5. He was a police officer for 28 years, not only shooting and testing hundreds of firearms, but carrying one every day as well.
Gary is a long time NRA life member and began writing firearms related articles in 1976. Since then he has published nearly 2,000 articles on firearms and history in dozens of firearms periodicals worldwide, and has co-authored two books.

Laughing aside the title of expert, Johnston insists that he is simply a serious student of firearms, their history and ammunition. His has been a lifelong quest for knowledge in this fascinating field, which serves to further his interest in protecting Americans’ Right to Keep and Bear Arms. Now Gary has finished a semi-fiction suspense novel based on a criminal case he was involved with for seven years with over fifty crimes committed against women in Shaker Heights, Ohio. "The Mudman of Sheridan," closely follows the real sequence of events and includes actual evidence photos and others, but because of political issues the story uses a location far away from where it occurred.
