Charles Montgomery Skinner was an American writer, editor, dramatic and art critic, mostly known as a collector and rewriter of North American folklore. “The Old Lodger” is a mysterious short story, entered in the collection “Myth and legend of our own land”. The narration is about a woman named Marie Louise Thebault, who lives in Detroit and has a bad repute across the citizens.
