Charles Montgomery Skinner (Aug 4, 1844 - Jun 30, 1928) was an American writer who published myths and legends collection books. His dream was to make American folklore heritage more glorious. Skinner’s writings were wide ranging. The Partridge Witch is a short story by Charles M. Skinner, included in "Myths and Legends of Our Own Land; Volume 04: Tales of Puritan Land". The story revolves around two brothers. One winter day, they went hunting. The hunt was long, their shoes broke at the end. "Would that there was a woman to help us!" cried one of the brothers. But, as the saying goes, be careful what you wish for, and boys were about to learn that lesson.
