Roscoe was quite a character. The stories he could have told … that is, if he wasn't a cat. He was an adored member of his adoptive family as well as a convenient alibi or scapegoat when needed. The bond he formed with his family was extraordinary, and his antics were talked about for generations.
I first enjoyed stories of his many adventures when I was too young to know for sure if those stories were strictly on the up and up. My dad loved to “embellish” a detail now and again, so I'm still not sure if they were all true or not. All I know is that When Dad talked about his boyhood friend, there was a wistful look in his eyes, as if he wished he were still there sharing adventures with his old friend and telling whoppers about him.
Whatever bit of truth the stories contained, we were entertained by these tales and in turn passed them on to our own families. Now, it is with great pleasure that I share the laughter and wonder with you. Enjoy!
