The new English as a second language (ESL) students at St. Mary's High School have come to the school for a variety of different reasons. They do share the excitement of being in a new country as well as their underlying feelings of loneliness and isolation. Their friendship grows as they discover each other's fears and insecurities of overcoming the language barrier and dealing with the typical life of an average teenager. An old woman tells them about the Screaming Tunnel, which has been a source of mystery and suspense for years in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Is the myth of the tunnel true? Does the little girl, who burned to death one hundred years ago, still haunt the tunnel and those who dare venture inside? The students will soon find out.
