A major drugs bust bungled. An officer shot by friendly fire. A major IPCC investigation into possible MET corruption.

Shiloh Zara, a policewoman of Zimbabwean descent, came to Britain as a young girl when her mother fled Mugabe's regime. On a positive career trajectory in the police service, everything is thrown off course when Shiloh is injured and her cousin left dead, during an attempted drugs bust.

With an investigation by the IPCC under way, there is no way Shiloh can explain why her cousin appeared at the raid. And so it is assumed that there is some corrupt connection between her and a major crime syndicate.

Drunk and floating hopelessly in the doldrums she finds herself, Shiloh is prompted by those around her to try save her career. This puts her squarely between a major crime lord and an assassin, both of whom have connections to Shiloh’s family.

With the Nigerian equivalent of a bogeyman seemingly tying off loose ends, dark secrets begin to bubble to the surface, revealing hidden truths about Mugabe and the regime that Shiloh’s mother ran away from. With danger closing in on her, Shiloh’s family is in grave danger.

And if that wasn’t enough, not only is Shiloh being investigated by the IPCC, but SOCA and MI5 as well.
