"On January 28th, 1977 at 11:10 AM the white wall of a blizzard hit Buffalo’s City Hall.  There were already 33 inches of snow on the ground, and more importantly, that blanket of snow also covered the frozen surface of adjacent Lake Erie.  For the next five consecutive days the region was hit by periodic gale force winds which moved most of the snow off of Lake Erie and onto us."

"Sometime during the night between Monday November 17th, and Tuesday November 18th, 2014, it started to snow.  And in my village of Lancaster NY, it snowed more in 24 hours than ever before recorded in the lower 48 states."

Award-winning poet Herb Kauderer lived at ground zero for three of the most epic snowstorms in the history of Western New York, but this time he recorded the snowstorm of November 2014 in poetry and photos. Herb is an associate professor of English at Hilbert College, and holds an MFA in creative writing, none of which stops the snow from falling.
