This is a delightful true story about a gosling that imprinted on a little boy, Joshua, while he attended summer camp at Camp Wawona in Yosemite National Park. The story follows the goslings life from camp to her happily-ever-after life with a break away wild gander on a ranch in the hills of California. From the moment Scuttlebutt arrives at her new home in Santa Maria, California, she makes it known that she is no ordinary gosling. She much prefers the company of humans, and likes watching cartoons, video games, and playing with the kids in the backyard. When an attempt to release the young Scuttlebutt into the wild at Waller Park resulted in her being attacked and nearly drowned by the wild ducks, it was clear that she was not accepted by her own kind and needed the protection of her human family. Eventually Scuttlebutt found life on the Miller ranch to be the best life a goose could have and it was there that she and a wild gander married and lived happily-ever-after.
