Aquaponics is a variation of hydroponics in which a symbiotic relationship of fish and plants is exploited to produce food. Aquaponics is also capable of efficiently producing not only vegetables, but also fish- a potent source of dietary protein. The system is simple to implement and maintain, working roughly the same way as a soil-based system, without the land constraints that is subjected to soil based agriculture.
