This is my personal memoir of the months leading up to the year during treatment and the wake, or the aftermath, of my youngest sons stage 3 cancer diagnosis. An insight to the situation that changed not only my familys lives but changed a mom into a cancer mom not only until treatment is done but forever, which isnt a bad thing in the end. How our family went through times we never ever thought we would have to face and certainly that my eight-year-old son should never have faced, but he did, and hes winning against cancer! My memoir is a form of therapy to attempt to let go, if even just a little bit, of the continued anxiety and fear that also seems to plague moms and caregivers such as myself. Will the cancer come back? Will the follow-up scans be clear this time? The anxiety of attempting to understand what we struggle with now that we are in the wake of this childhood monster called cancer. Names of the people in this book have been changed to protect their privacy. To keep updated on my familys progress, you can follow us on Facebook at Team Chase Leikam.
