"Indeed, the world hates everyone, but oh does it hate me worst of all!"

In the wondrous age of the Internet, Rikka Oddadottir is an average teenager making good grades and decent friends. But it is all a façade. To Rikka, the world is a boring, passionless place, but when she arrives home, her world changes and she becomes awesum_v0m1t, the girl of her dreams.

Under her sacred username, awesum_v0m1t is a blogger, camwhore, chess master, mischief-maker and fantasy photographer seen and followed by millions. The isolation and intimacy of the online world becomes Rikka’s sanctuary, where she eventually discovers that awesum_v0m1t is the definition of true love.

One night, Rikka comes to inevitable terms with the reality that her affair with awesum_v0m1t is a forbidden love--one she will never obtain outside the computer screen. The only escape is suicide, but before she attempts, the world takes a dark turn. A sadistic online stalker, a religious old man and a series of gruesome nightmares will send Rikka on an odyssey of unspeakable suffering to obtain the greatest love of all—herself.
