Alexander Nicholayevitch Romanoff (1881-1945) was a Russian-born author and second cousin of Czar Nicholas II who wrote under the pen name Achmed Abdullah. Abdullah is most noted for his pulp stories of crime, mystery and adventure. He wrote also screenplays for some successful films, two of which received Academy Award nominations in 1927 and 1935.
