In the first book, Thy Kingdom Come, we read about the importance of the “Lord’s Prayer”. In it I stressed that the Lord’s Prayer is the embodiment of the mission of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is also God’s keen desire to regain man’s kingdom from Satan. Satan in his canniness robbed man of his habitation and inheritance, beating him into submission, hence enslaving him and proclaiming himself lord and master of man’s kingdom. Besides, Satan acclaimed himself as the invisible governor on Earth, offering dominion and power to whomsoever would pledge allegiance to his authority. To Jesus, he said “the kingdom of the world has been given to him (Satan), and he gives it to whoever pleases him”. But Jesus would have no such nonsense for He knew from creation that the earthly kingdom belongs to mankind. Thus His mission is to empower mankind with the knowledge of God, explain the deception of the clown king (Satan), and to champion mankind’s course to regain his kingdom.
This book, therefore, is the continuation of the process to recapture mankind’s kingdom. Mankind must not only know that his subjection to Satan’s dominion is as a result of disobedience, he must also learn to live in trust and harmony with one another. Hence the focus on providence (food) should not be an issue since God provides for all His creation. Since Mankind has obtained mercy from God, he must also learn to extend mercy to others. In addition, he must be aware of the common enemy of man and God (Satan) whose desires had always been to plot evil. In all this awareness, mankind must never forget that all authority, power and dominion belong to God, after his kingdom is restored. Accordingly, Jesus shall subject all glory and authority to God, the Father, at the end of the ages.
