Fifty years ago, a San Francisco band called Blue Cheer unknowingly changed the music scene when they recorded and released their first album, Vincebus Eruptum. From 1967 until 1971 something was happening and music began getting edgier and heavier than ever before. The Doors and Cream had lit proverbial fires, spurring things in a direction that was still uncharted territory.
