When starting out with golf whether as a hobby or as a professional sport, it is always best to learn first hand some very helpful tips and the basic tricks of the game as they are the most important lessons out of everything else.

Here are some of the practical rules of the game:

1.       When you are just starting out, do not buy brand new golf clubs that cost a fortune. For one thing, your skills may be as yet inadequate for what the clubs are worth. Rent out your golf clubs first as a test run and if you are sure that you would really like to pursue golf for long-term then invest initially on second hand golf clubs.

2.       Golf will require you to spend a lot of hours under the strong heat of the sun. Sunburn can cause serious skin conditions in the long run. Never forget to put on sunscreen no matter how long you plan to go under the sun to play golf.

3.       Do some stretching exercises before you go out for practice or play a game. Stretching will warm up your muscles and prevent back strain after a long game run. Stretching also flexes the muscles and helps out your range of motion so you can achieve longer shots.

4.       It’s also common sense that if you’re learning to play golf, then you will need to familiarize yourself with the rules of the game. Learn USGA/R&A and local rules especially when playing competitively.
