Union Ships of the Line

Time War Part - I

The Combat Information and Prediction Centers (CIPC) were assembling a composite report about the 1st Race.  At some time in their distant past before they joined the galactic Union – members of the 1st Race began to dabble again with Mind techniques from their ancient ancestors. 

Those who did were entered and consumed by the evil they courted.  The sons of light were splintered into two groups for the first time in over half a billion years.  The darkness spread through the 1st Race.  However it learned to hide in order to protect itself from being discovered again and destroyed.  It had been defeated before and imprisoned by the sons of light before it could rise to power and take what it wanted.  This time it would masquerade as the light and hide in plain sight.  Thus began the decline and fall of the 1st Race.

Those who were tempted by the darkness – set it free and were consumed by it.  The darkness sought to transcend the physical world in which it had been trapped.  It chose a young man who had been on the path to spiritual perfection – when the darkness used a young beautiful woman to enter him.  The son of light ceased to exist and the darkness used the young man's position and power in the young Union to wreak havoc.  The darkness planned nothing less than the enslavement of the entire galaxy.

However evil entity’s plan was interrupted by a powerful alien force from outside the galaxy - one it had not anticipated or foreseen.  The entity’s chosen body was destroyed by this alien force.  The creature found itself in between the physical world and the world it wanted to enter.  The entity began a new plan working behind the scenes with 1st Race survivors of the alien attack in the Second Quadrant.  The creature set in motion its new grand plan.  The creature discovered that it needed nourishment – when by accident it drained – what the 6th Race called “Signal Energy” – from every living thing on a moon in a system on the outer rim of the Second Quadrant.

The entity liked the way it felt afterward.  It liked the increased power – and it wanted more.    However killing the beings it wanted to enslave was stupid.  The entity found that it had an innate ability to pretend to be a deity – so it established itself in the Third Quadrant as a god with many species who allowed it to feed upon their Signal Energy without having to kill them.  The creature enjoyed playing god and over time began to care less and less about the enslavement of the galaxy.  If found all the power, pleasure and nourishment it needed in the Third Quadrant.  Over time it forgot about the 1st Race and their plan to conquer the galaxy.

For another billion years it enjoyed absolute supremacy over its many worlds.  Then a nemesis appeared and the creature found itself at war!   So the creature went to check on the 1st Race and the plan it had forgotten about in the Second Quadrant.  The entity had to make adjustments.  Some of the species were on track – others had to be slaughtered.  It was just regaining control over the many aspects of its second grand plan for the galaxy when it was caught and destroyed.  The creature's consciousness – finally came to an end.  However its second grand plan for the galaxy was still in motion.  

It was this second grand plan the evil entity hatched that threatened the new Union.  The new Union was reacting – because it did not know who the enemy was.  And when the new Union determined who the enemy was – it did not know the extent or the scope of the evil First Race entity's plan.  Fortunately Admiral Ninlil had made the decision to bring forth the CIPCs and they were piecing the puzzle together – piece by minuscule piece.  

The 1st Race survivors in the Second Quadrant were carrying out the plan of their inspired prince of darkness.  They had no idea he had been destroyed.  They knew only that it was unwise to disappoint him.  

The CIPCs did not know yet how or who was conducting operations in the Second Quadrant while remaining completely invisible.  It would not become evident until by accident the Union Navy witnessed the 1st Race survivors operating in the Second Quadrant.  The CIPCs were shocked when they learned the 1st Race was behind recent events in the Second Quadrant. The new information allowed the new Union Navy to concentrate on the culprits and track them down.  

If the truth was finally uncovered – it would send shock waves throughout the galaxy.  Admiral Ninlil had not revealed the truth about the 1st Race to the galaxy.  It was a good thing because the 1st Race were still operating in the Second Quadrant.  The Rippers had not destroyed them all.  What Lili did not yet know was how they stayed hidden.

The 1st Race under the leadership of their dark prince used the 7th Race Time Travel System (TTS) to undermine the new Union in the 2nd Quadrant.  They moved whole species back in time and then forward again in an effort to control planets and star systems.  They obtained military equipment from the past and brought it forward to help the Warlords they had secretly manipulated to power.

Ninlil had hoped to avoid a time war.  However after the CIPCs uncovered the method the enemy was using to undermine the new Union a time war could not be avoided.  Fortunately Ninlil kept the 7th Race Time Travel system intact.  However the enemy was not using the old 7th Race system to travel through time…
