This is part of a series of books in which particular verses are picked from books of the bible, and the issues of Holiness are explored, in the light of the mind of God for us.
In this book, we explore three topics, from different verses in the books of 1Timothy and Hebrews. They are: Sanctification by the word and prayer; Doctrine conforming to godliness; and In pursuit of peace and holiness.

Sanctification by the word and prayer
“Jesus Christ prayed in the morning for God to sanctify his day (Mark 1:35). He makes use of the early hours to set the tone for the rest of it. Jesus Christ offered up prayers and supplications while on earth and he was heard because he was humble and devoted (Hebrews 5:7). God then made his presence available to Jesus without limit, because his sense of neediness of God was without limit. It was just what God wanted. What about you?”
Doctrine conforming to godliness
“The three are one, but can be are described with difference parameters. The sun you don’t ordinarily see (The father [John 1:18]), the light you see (Jesus is the incarnate God [1Timothy 3:16]), and the heat you feel (the Holy Spirit is likened to wind; you see the effect but don’t see it [John 3:1-10]). They can be described in different terms, but you can’t really divorce one from the other.”
In pursuit of peace and holiness
“When it comes to relationship with men, we should have kindness, goodness, longsuffering, self-control, and gentleness. The bible says against such there is no law. We cannot do wrong if we are in pursuit of peace and holiness which are captured in one word: love, for man and God respectively. Paul called it the higher way, saying if I have everything and I have no love I have nothing (1Corinthians 13).”
