This is part of a series of books in which particular verses are picked from books of the bible, and the issues of Jesus are explored, in the light of the mind of God for us.
In this book, we explore five topics, from different verses in the books of Acts and Romans. They are: Being with Jesus; Jesus is the Son of God; No discrimination; The revelation of Jesus Christ; and The law and the Spirit.
Excerpts:
Being with Jesus
“The devil had power but Jesus coming shows that “power pass power.” Jesus is the power of God, he is the means for God to render the devil useless as if has no power. Look at how Jesus dealt with evil spirits, it was no competition, it was demolition, he was light and there was darkness (John 1:1-7). There is only so much darkness can do in the presence of light. It disappears, it will be as nothing and a thing of nought (Isaiah 41:12).”
Jesus is the Son of God
“Jesus Christ is the Son of God so that through believing in him we would also be called sons of God, with all the rights and privileges that come with that (John 1:12). He can’t give us what he doesn’t have.”
No discrimination
“We share humanity, in the same way, we can share the life of God when we believe in him, we can experience his righteousness as he shared our sinfulness. The gift of righteousness is extended to all, no barrier is respected.”
The revelation of Jesus Christ
“He operates the supernatural. He manifests in spiritual gifts (Hebrews 2:3-4), signs and wonders, miracles, deliverance, casting out of devils, healing of the sick. It is the Holy Spirit that convicts of sin and brings us all to Jesus.”
The law and the Spirit
“He has saved you, cleansed you up and now by the Holy Spirit baptism he wants to showcase you, set you on fire, to stand you out, as you rake in impact for the kingdom. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is specifically in the context of being witnesses, impacting the world in the name of Jesus (Acts 1:8).”
