Out of the heart spews many truths of love, hurt, hope, inspiration, and guidance.

I learned at an early age how to touch the heart softly and how to impale the words of truth deep in the recesses of the mind. Since the age of twelve, I cannot remember a time when I was not writing poetry to express how I deeply felt when weighted down by life woes, be they my woes or someone else woes that I cared about. Also, writing about the joyous moments of our lives. It is a true blessing to know that the words I have written for myself or someone else-to get through something, can have such a great impact on so many others. I have realized that although we have different backgrounds, cultures, and lifestyles, we still have a common thread of being human being and trying to make it through life's mountains and valleys. In this, we find ourselves going through the same things regardless of our station in life, the color of our skin, or how much money we have or don't have.

As you take this journey through my life, through your life, your families and friends’ life, and even through that strangers life—for this is everyday people's poetry, I pray it soothes your hurts, give you a clearer understanding, and instill in you a compassion for what you don't understand. More than anything, I pray that the words of my poetry becomes a voice for those who do not have one, that it becomes a voice for those that are afraid to speak, a voice for those that cannot express the way they feel about themselves or how they feel about others. For, out of the heart spews many truths of love, hurt, hope, inspiration, and guidance. Enjoy, for these are poems from my heart.
