Voices from the Ages

Throughout the ages, many of the great minds and wits made clear that two simple tenets define life: Life is brief and finding happiness is the surest way to gain fulfillment and peace of mind. In one way or another, all people through the centuries, regardless of wealth or status, have all sought the same thing — happiness — some able to find it, others, not able to. Jean-Paul Sartre may have said it best: “Everything has been figured out, except how to live.”

 “Voices From The Ages” brings to the reader a timeline of historical thought by presenting profiles of nearly one hundred well-known names, some recognizable to modern-day readers and others obscured by history. Among those profiled are novelists and poets, revolutionaries and radicals, scientists and inventors, feminists, playwrights, historians, humorists, movie stars, and singers. It may come as a surprise how little you know of the life story of many of the people you’re most familiar with.
