Fans of David Sedaris, the movie A Christmas Story, or NPR’s This American Life, will appreciate the mix of humor and trauma in Watch Out For Sneaker Waves.

What’s harder: being a child of parents who don’t understand or being a father who doesn’t understand?

Surviving childhood isn’t easy. Dodging bullies, losing your three-old-brother in a forest, and evading vomit while trapped in a car are just some of the obstacles.

Getting a driver's license and a little freedom doesn’t make things much better. You have to pay for gas, repairs, and explain that you were involved in a drive-by shooting while trying to sell low-flush toilets.

Growing up isn’t much better. You have to clean up the children’s poop and spit-up. Dealing with a three year old nudist is almost enough to make you wish you could go back and live with your own nutty parents again. Almost.
