My hands began to shake. The ever-increasing weakness made it difficult to climb even one single step. I was afraid of sitting down as I had difficulty standing up again. My face became less and less expressive. I would fall asleep suddenly. I swallowed my words and drool came out of the corners of my mouth. It was hard to go up and down the stairs because of my lack of coordination – sometimes I used the wrong foot and would fall. My muscles contracted from the tips of my toes to my cervical spine. I was becoming a disabled person and I was ashamed. I defended myself with lies. Then the medical examinations and the verdict: Parkinson’s disease. I was prescribed a pharmaceutical therapy. I was dominated by a monster. I decided to start fighting. As a journalist, I knew I had a great opportunity to write a report of my battles from the frontline of the disease
