God’s teachings were given to me quickly in five books, of which this is book two. This book offers an exploration of how our beliefs may be antiquated and in need of updating.

Generally, we either take the Bible at face value or pick out the parts that suit our purposes. Reading the Bible, time and again, brings to light that much has changed in our world since its words were originally written. Seldom do we realize that the words were either passed down verbally or at least filtered through the authors who actually put the words in writing.

The Bible is certainly the greatest document of all times. This is without question, yet it does offer an outdated view of society and does greatly offer a somewhat menacing portrayal of God. God wishes for us to have a more personal relationship with Him. If our basis of respect is purely fear, then we will not allow ourselves to freely go to God and explore all that He has to offer.

God is only love, not the judgmental and vengeful God, as is often portrayed in the Bible. If we fear God, we will never know God. If we hold fast to our fear-based Biblical teachings, we will never know the true magnificence of God or ourselves.

We must reconsider our understandings about God and all things spiritual, including ourselves. Spiritual mastery is almost impossible if we are unable to open our minds to the vastness of God’s loving potential.
