Thomas Crow, wizard, advocate for the Circle and one of The People has been given a new case and a new client to defend. And his client is going to need all of his skills as an advocate and a wizard to avoid being exiled, de-fanged or even potentially executed.

Hermes stands accused of having shifted form in public, of having changed into his wolf form in the middle of a crowded supermarket, and of then having savaged a mother and her young son, leaving them badly injured. But worse for him is the fact that it all happened, and the evidence has already been collected and weighed.

With his client almost without a case, Thomas is going to have to use every resource at his disposal, including a bodiless imp with the ability to spy on anyone, his receptionist a kickass gorgon who dresses to kill, and even his girlfriend Amy, a green haired druidess with a love of ruling his life.

Naturally things are going to become a little tense as the trial draws closer.
