“How about another game? The three of us against you,” tough guy said.
The dim light cast a shadow over his face as he smiled, and golden highlights shone from the side of his shaved head. “Fine by me. How much?” I asked.
“How about if you win we give you all the money we have,” he said and took the last drag from the cigarette.
I took a deep breath. “And if you win?”
A hunger pooled in the back of his eyes. “If we win. You come home with us,” he said and tongued his lip ring.
Eyes wide, I wiped my sweaty palms on my jeans. “Are you kidding me?”
Tough guy shook his head. “Not kidding at all,” he said and nodded at the black haired man.
His friend cracked his knuckles and racked up a new game.
I licked dry lips and tried to control the tremble in my body. “What would we do at your place?”
They all chuckled. “Come on. You know what,” said tough guy.
