It is based on "World War II Plus 55," the author's award-winning website on World War II, which was on the web from 1995 to 2013.
Further volumes of this series will cover the war on a day-by-day basis, from 1939 to 1945, following around the "big picture" of major war leaders, nations, and participants, and the "small picture" of various warriors or civilians who were caught up in the struggle, and made history through their actions, ranging across a broad spectrum: from Winston Churchill to New Zealand Army Captains.
