Saying yes to everything is a common technique in improvisational theater because it makes life interesting. A group of American and British amateurs discover this while putting on a show in Edinburgh. The Craigslist Eight ensemble includes three brothers constantly betting over whose turn it is to sleep on the floor, a man who is more attached to his phone than his girlfriend, and a long-married couple who have drifted far apart.

Andy thinks he is open to anything but he relies on his work partner, Steve, for energy in their performances and to hold together the novice group during their shows in Edinburgh. Steve donated sperm to a lesbian couple last year and is distracted by the baby. Andy feels jealous; he'll never have a child since his live-in girlfriend already has two children and is almost forty.

Nora thinks performing in an improv show will help her best friend from London cope with the loss of her husband, but Nora needs to take charge of her own life. When her son is injured in Chicago, her emotions break out of their careful box revealing her true desires.

Will has a stalker girlfriend who is gorgeous, but reluctant to talk about her job. He is suspicious that she knows his father is rich and that is why she appeared in Edinburgh.

Even within improv, there's more than the usual theater disasters that can go wrong with this group.
